IMF transparency

check out Global Transparency Initiative recommendations on IMF transparency.
One thing positive I've heard from academics is that they actually get into the IMF archives, but NO ONE ever gets into the World Bank archives!
Still, it is a real burden to have to come to Washington, DC in person and use English only. Overdue for IMF to post everything on web.

I have expressed before my dissatisfaction with the IMF ignoring the progress in Civil Society through the ISO Governances standards - The IMF uses a list of Standards dated 2002 - how outrageous for an organization to attempt to be part of social change and to have a "standards" of the year 2002. Consider the importance of Sorbanes Oxley act in the US - and the IS0 26000 Standard - about to be launched.

If accountability is to have any meaning the IMF must follow Civil Society more closely. Demanding Triple Bottom line Reporting as a minimum Standard and MOVING BEYOND TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE when you come to understand why Triple bottom line does not go far enough.

As for Conditionality - the Declaration of Human rights is a good starting point - but what of the Declaration of Human Rights of the Indigenous Peoples ? does that not fall into your view???

I would love to know more about the reforms and new rules. How the grassroot level workers from developing nation could benefited from these reforms. Further, is there any provision on the development without harming the environment or natural set up of particular sites? As far as my experience concerned IMF is providing a lot of financial assistance to nation but the work is openly harming the natural set up of the areas.

In my views term sustainable should be strictly made compulsion in the work before its allocation. Further, its definition should include the provision of mandatory check on destroying the virginity of natural set up.
